These were tiles I saved from the bathroom of my husbands great-grandmother's house right before it was to be torn down.  I painted several of them and gave them out as presents to different members of his family.  Her middle name was Rose so I painted roses on most of them.....once I find my pics of those I will post.  The ribbon is just hot-glued to the back of the tile.

Bags (& 1 random pair of boxers) I've made

Valentine Cherry Blossom Wreath

Not the best pics but this started out as a dollar store woven wreath. Also from the dollar store I found a bag of red glass beads.  I hot-glued the beads all over the wreath (front and sides.) Then wrapped with some black & white ribbon and finished off with some artificial cherry blossom petals.  (Yes, all of these too were bought at dollar store.)

The only problem I found with the finished product was the weight.  The glass beads make for one seriously heavy wreath.  I couldn't hang the wreath with the ribbon as I had planned so I took my wreath hanger and just covered it with the ribbon for the same effect.

Bean Art

First off, let me say that these look waaay better in person.  They really do not photograph well for some reason.  Anyway, these are Christmas presents I made one year for various family members.  Each piece had something to do with their own personality or life.  These were easily made by gluing various beans and rice to a canvas. Then once finished I sprayed them with a high-gloss sealant.  This kept the rice from falling off and gave them the wonderful shiny look.

One lesson I learned while doing these....I sketched my design on with pencil first.  If you don't have great rice coverage you will be able to see some of the pencil markings when finished.  And once it is sealed there is no getting an eraser in there to get rid of the marks.

Starting Things Off

To start things off, until I get my tutorials together, we will post some pics of items we have made in the past.  Most of these were made for personal use but hopefully they will inspire some wonderful crafts of your own.  Please let us know if you have or do make something similar, we would love to see pics!

a Hoop for your Hoops (earrings)

This is made from a embroidery hoop.  I had some of the glittery toile leftover from some wedding decorations I made....it was already pre-cut into circles.  I doubled the toile because I know how rough my girls can be with their stuff.  Just snap it in the hoop and decorate away.  The peace sign in the middle is actually bedazzles for a  phone I believe.....I found it on clearance and knew I could use it for something.

You have to look really hard but you can see that I have a small pair of sapphire stud earrings punched through toward the upper right of the holder.

Also, I added the double heart charm at the bottom to hang hoop earring or necklaces from.
